Green Team @ CCU met with Ambimed to explore clinical waste management regulation and current situation. Clinical waste is only regulated by Decreto 242/96, which has a very restrictive and outdated view of waste management from clinical activities. Ambimed conveyed some current practices from clinical settings across the country that could be implemented at the CCU. We requested access to waste data from Ambimed and CML (that manages non-biological waste and recycling) to monitor CCU waste production and measure future interventions.
